Disney star Cameron Boyce Dies at Age 20
The actor cameron Boyce, who also starred in the comedy Grown Ups, died in his sleep last night.
A family spokesman said: “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report this morning we lost Cameron.
“He passed away in his sleep because of a seizure, which was a consequence of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.
“The world is currently definitely without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on throughout the kindness and compassion of those who knew and loved him.
After making his movie debut as a nine-year-old in terror film Mirrors, soon followed by Shia LaBeouf thriller Eagle Eye, Boyce shot to fame in the Disney Channel kids TV show, Jessie.
He played Luke Ross in the comedy, based on a nanny who looks after a family in New York, which ran for four seasons and 98 episodes.
Boyce, from Los Angeles, also starred in animated versions of Marvel’s Spider-Man before starring as Carlos De Vil from the Disney film franchise that the Descendants.
TV movie show focused on the teenaged children of Disney baddies Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil.
But, arguably one of the most known roles was in the humor film Grown Ups where he played with Keithie Feder, son of Adam Sandler’s character Leonard Feder.
Besides, he reprised his role for the sequel, Grown Ups 2.
A Disney Channel spokesman explained Boyce within an”incredibly talented performer.”
They stated: “In a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic abilities with the world.
“As a young guy, he was fuelled by a powerful urge to create a difference in peoples’ lives during his humanitarian work.
“He was an incredibly talented actress, a remarkably caring and thoughtful individual and, above all else, he had been a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson, and friend.
“We offer our deepest condolences to his loved ones, throw colleagues and mates and join his many millions of fans in grieving his untimely departure. He will be dearly missed.”
His charity work
Disney has paid tribute to the young celebrity, saying: “From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world. As a young guy, he had been fuelled by a strong desire to create a difference in peoples’ lives during his diplomatic work.”
The young actor was also famous for his charity work. In 2017 he helped raise money for the Thirst Project, an initiative to bring clean water into underdeveloped nations.
At the time he described charity work, and with his loyal following of over 8 million Instagram followers to raise cash, as a”no brainer.”
Tributes into his life
Tributes to Boyce have been flooding in, such as one from Descendants director Kenny Ortega.
“Cameron, You left a huge piece of your heart for those people who knew and loved you in this lifetime, and you went with a big part of our hearts now.
We’ll continue to take your loving soul forward. You are our eternal boy,” Ortega wrote on Instagram. “In your short time on this ground, you lit up it with your incomparable ability and goodness.
I’ll be forever thankful to have known and worked with you. Thanks for sharing your excellent gifts with all of us. God Bless you and may God watch on your Incredible and loving Family during this difficult time.
